Mount Meru Climb usually takes four days, but it can be done in three days. Even on this lower peak, getting used to the altitude is the key to success. All trekking groups start at Momella Gate and take the same path up the mountain.

Hikers will stay in a series of huts on their way to the top. Two different campsites have simple but comfortable rooms for hikers to stay in before they reach the top, which is at a place called Socialist Peak.
Travelers can get two benefits from climbing Mount Meru. First, it gives trekkers a smaller version of what it’s like to climb Kilimanjaro. This is a great adventure for people who don’t have a lot of time or don’t want to deal with the higher altitude on Kilimanjaro.

But perhaps more importantly, it’s a great way to prepare for the bigger challenges they’ll face on Kilimanjaro, taking some of the mystery and acclimatization process out of the picture before they even set foot on the mountain.

Mangokili Advenrures offers Mount Meru 3 day or 4 day Climbs. On the lower slopes, though, clients from different groups and operators often walk together with the armed ranger.
